Occupational Therapy

Patient and Nurse

An assessment is undertaken with individuals in their home environment to identify areas of functional difficulty in day-to-day life. Although assessments generally follow a similar format, this is a collaborative process where a full picture of an individual’s difficulties are discussed before planning the next step.

Recommendations are made for equipment, adaptations or a rehabilitation programme to optimise function and improve safety.

Assessments are available as a one-off consultation assessment, or with a view to ongoing rehabilitation.

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy provides practical support to empower people to facilitate recovery and overcome barriers preventing them from doing the activities (or occupations) that matter to them. This support increases people's independence and satisfaction in all aspects of life.

How Can Occupational Therapy Help You?

An occupational therapy functional assessment addresses everyday activities and tasks that we do from waking in the morning through until going to bed at night. From turning in bed, to toileting, making a meal, getting out and about or going to work - an occupational therapist can help identify the problems and offer a variety of solutions. Whether difficulties stem from a physical disability after an accident, injury or illness, a brain injury or cognitive impairment such as Dementia - occupational therapy can help.

Thank you so much for the evaluation you did for my application to the home office for leave to remain in the U.K. We sent it along with a number of other documents, to our immigration lawyer yesterday afternoon. We received a call shortly after that from the lawyer, praising your report as one of the best she has ever seen.
