was established in 2017 by
Kate graduated with a BSc Occupational Therapy in 2003 and has 17 years experience working throughout NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde hospitals across a variety of specialisms experiencing a vast array of conditions. these include (but not limited to); Frailty, Urine Infections, Chest Infections, Dementia / cognitive decline, Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, Amputations, Cardiac conditions, Respiratory conditions, Orthopaedics, Stroke and End of Life Care.
Since establishing herself in private practice, Kate has undertaken expert moving and handling assessments for a large local authority contract, working within the community to assess individuals within their home setting (either home or care home), making recommendations to minimise risk and train families or carers in safe moving and handling techniques.
Kate has substantial experience conducting Occupational Therapy Functional Assessments of individuals within their home setting and making recommendations in addition to compiling high level reports on behalf of Rehabilitation Managers, Insurance Companies and Lawyers.
Within private practice, Kate has experience rehabilitating individuals who have sustained catastrophic injuries through a variety of circumstances including road traffic accidents and industrial accidents.
Kate has participated in the delivery of Health Promotion seminars with Age Scotland, to educate those approaching retirement on the importance of active ageing and she has contributed, from an Occupational Therapy perspective, towards 'A comprehensive guide to rehabilitation of the older patient - 4th edition' due for publication late 2020 .
Passionate both personally & professionally, Kate values the positive impact that leading a healthy active life can have on health & wellbeing, and believes it can give people a real sense of empowerment.
Kate sits on the National Executive Committee (NEC) as the Communication Lead for the Royal College of Occupational Therapist Specialist Section for Independent Practice (RCOTSS-IP).
